Gloomy Sunday

The amount in dispute: the song "Gloomy Sunday" was banned because of relationships in many suicides.

Status: not defined.

Origins: "the" legend "Gloomy Sunday" is a kind of meta-legend, which includes the following States:

PervyjPesnâ "Gloomy Sunday" was associated with many suicides in Hungary.

Laszlo Javor
VtoraâPesnâ "Gloomy Sunday" was banned in Hungary, because the connection many suicides.

TretijPesnâ "Gloomy Sunday" was banned in America because many of the suicide link.

ČetvërtoeKompozitor wrote a song for an old friend who committed suicide shortly after the release of the song.

PâtyjSam composer, committed suicide.
"Gloomy Sunday" in 1933 two Hungarians: Rezso Seress (music) and Laszlo Javor (lyrics). Song allegedly drew a little (adverse) attention until 1936, when it started about a rash of suicides in Hungary and was banned there. (dramaturgy)
Sad Sunday, shadows all estates in the whole thing.
My heart and I decided to do this.
Soon there will be no candles and prayers that are sad, I know.
Death is not a dream, because I'm a fan of the death.
The last breath of my soul I'll be blessing you have.
Sad Sunday.
According to the legend: Gloomy Sunday .
1.First up to seventeen suicide involving some kind of song "Gloomy Sunday" in Hungary before the song was (presumably) is prohibited. These "links", who supposedly committed suicide after listening to the song (or write or perform in the Group), who reportedly found dead or references to a "Gloomy Sunday" (and/or songs) their own banknotes suicide, "Gloomy Sunday" notes in his hand, and "Gloomy Sunday" play turntables.

Laszlo Javor
I don't know what these requirements may not check short swap old Hungarian newspapers, even at that time it would be difficult to separate reports exaggerated and did well. I suspect that this is part of the legend is trivially true, a combination of historically high rate of suicide rates in Hungary, and the causes and consequences, and not match-the relationship between song and suicide, which caused rumors and media reports greatly exaggerated.Hungary had the highest suicide rate in all countries for many years (higher than 45.9 100000 in 1984), so that dozens of suicide more than a year, of course, it would not be unusual even in 1936. It is not uncommon for suicide anything to work with popular songs, movies or books, or his own death. Only when certain songs coincidentally is associated with a corresponding number of suicide to draw the attention of all suicides in which people are beginning to argue that this is somehow the cause of these deaths.(dramaturgy)
2. many States that the response to "Gloomy Sunday" by the Hungarian authorities, "deterrence" public performance of the song, an explicit prohibition on it. I can't find reliable information about when, where and to whom this song could be banned in one or the other. I think that, on the basis of similar legends (for example, argue that Donald Duck was banned in insert Scandinavian countries), will be that some Hungarian municipalities can initiate certain types (perhaps voluntarily) restrictions on the song, but it was not a national ban "Gloomy Sunday". other video
lyrics
3.TretijTrebovania United States reaction to the song even wild. Some sources claim that there is "Gloomy Sunday" style of suicides were registered in the United States, and other attributes of suicide (up to 200 "peace") and the United States of America and the UK, the English version of "Gloomy Sunday" (including "young jazz fans", which fell into depression after hearing the version of Billie Holiday's song). Similarly, although some sources claim that the songs were not limited to any place in the United States, others claim that "the prohibition on the ether". (Sometimes a specific version of the said Ban Ki-moon songs, such as Billie Holiday in.) Some sources claim that "compromise", ban seen as many radio stations only played the instrumental version of the song. it's a classical HIP Hop instrumentals and have special place in the heart of their fans.

4Cetvertoe"Portugal, which inspired the song" suicide of a substantive claim sounds like a myth, because I found only one source that mentioned this. He claimed that the Sycamore "wrote a song for an old friend", and that shortly after its release she had committed suicide and left a note simply "Gloomy Sunday".

5 Rezso Seress did commit suicide, jumped into the building in Budapest in 1968. This part of the myth seems to be decorated, and some sources claim that he was depressed because he was never able to produce another hit for "Gloomy Sunday".(dramaturgy)
